Lisa Welch

Lisa was Playmate of the Month for September 1980. Her pictorial was titled The Frisco Kid.

Lisa was born Nov. 11, 1960 in Aberdeen, MD. She was an Army brat who moved from place to place throughout her childhood before her family eventually settled in San Francisco. She graduated early from high school and studied fashion retailing at the University of Marin. According to her Playmate of the Month pictorial, she was working two jobs – as a travel agent and as a restaurant hostess – when she visited the Playboy modeling agency in Los Angeles and was persuaded to try out for Playmate.

Following her stint as a Playmate, Welch embarked on a brief acting career. She had a small part as a vestal virgin in “History of the World: Part I” (1981) and was sorority girl Suzy in “Revenge of the Nerds” (1984). She made a guest appearance on the television show “Matt Houston” (1983) and had a minor part in the straight-to-video erotic thriller, “Night Fire” (1994).

Lisa is quoted in “The Playmate Book: Five Decades of Centerfolds” as saying, “If it hadn’t been for Playboy, I never would have come to L.A. from Marin County and met my husband on a blind date.” They married and raised nine children. They lived on an avocado ranch outside of Los Angeles, which was used as a location for movies and television shows. They are now living on a ranch and vineyard near Malibu, where Lisa is an artist.
