Heidi Sorenson

Heidi was Playmate of the Month for July 1981. Her pictorial was titled Great Dane.

Heidi was born Aug. 5, 1960 to Danish immigrant parents in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The family moved to Denmark, where Heidi spent her early childhood, then back to Vancouver Island, where her father ran a fishing company. She has two sisters. Heidi graduated from West Vancouver High School. At age 17, she got a job as a junior accountant at a local radio station.

Heidi was spotted by photographer Ken Honey after winning a local bikini contest. He used her as a model for local magazines before persuading her to pose for Playboy. After her Playmate of the Month pictorial, she continued to pose for the magazine into her 30s.

Heidi became a member of the Singing Playmates musical group, which had been formed by fellow Playmate Sondra Theodore in the late 1970s. At her first audition, she wasn’t chosen. However, according to a story on playboy.com, she listened to the group’s rehearsals at the Playboy Mansion (she was living there at the time) and after the group had left, practiced with their equipment. She is quoted as saying, “I was so determined to get into this group, you have no idea. I memorized everything. I learned all the harmonies.” Finally, she talked herself into the group.

Heidi acted in a number of movies and made guest appearances on television shows. According to her IMDB bio, as of 1997 she was living on the beach in Southern California with her husband and daughter and had written the book “You Can Date Me” as well as  several screenplays and teleplays.
